Introduce yourself
NAME: Amanda
AGE: 22
LOCATION: Alaska
I originally created this website 6 years ago as a high school HTML project, the teacher commended me on my good work so I decided to upload the page to the internet, where, over time, the poularity grew. Along side other popular marx pages mine used to be the #2 position on google if you searched for Lydia the tattooed lady or the Marx Brothers.
Earlier this year, the hosting company which my site was uploaded to disappeared.
This was both good and bad, good because I needed to make drastic updates, and wanted to buy my own URL anyway. Bad, because I did not have very recent back ups.
I was able to find a back up of my website through the internet wayback machine, and Lydia rose again.
Currently I'm trying to get the site's google rank back, so far it hasn't been successful. _________________

I hope your website works out... I use hostmonster.com for this one, they're great, and a decent price.
An you can always affiliate (google seems to be the best, but you need people to actually click the ads, I make about 52 cents per adclick, other affiliate sites require a purchase to be made after the click....which SUCKS!)
Good luck with your moviefilm aspirations, I hope you remember me when you become famous _________________

I just went to hostmonster.com
Is it really 5.95 a month? Because at godaddy, it says, "8.95 a month" then the total charge is 87.20!!! _________________ Howdy-doo. |

I don't remember what I paid, but it was quite low, I can check when I get home, I think I got a 2 year contract for around $150ish
And I love them so far

I can neither confirm nor deny my desire to have people click the ads, suffice to say, if one were to, I would not object, but I can not reward (nor punish) such behavior.
Google is particular about affiliates getting people to just click the ads and then leave the website. _________________

I looked it up, I paid $142 for two years + $10 for an additional domain registration, so for hostmonster.com I paid a total of $152, which works out to roughly $6.34/month
I think that's a pretty good deal myself. _________________

Greetings all...
Followed the directions at Lydia's Myspace, turned left, and here I am.
Fortunately, I come from a long line of Marx Brothers fans. In fact my Grandmother left me with strict instructions just prior to her death that once the funeral service was over, I was to hit the VCR with a tape of 'Duck Soup'. "You can't watch Duck Soup and be sad." she said.
It's become a 'death in the family' tradition.
I also REALLY love Monty Python, the "Carry-On" films, Peter Sellers, The Little Rascals, The Goodies, Ab Fab (a little newer, but still wonderful) and classic Warner Brothers cartoons.
Great to be here!

Welcome to you as well
I'll actually be moving to California in the September/October time frame (Northern though, San Francisco Bay area)
While I'm in the state I'll definately be wandering down to Hollywood to see the Brothers' stars on the walk of fame, and their handprints at Mann's Chinese theater _________________

Wow! I am really impressed with you all. On most forums like this, I am the youngster and I turn 50 this Friday! You are doing a terrific job with this site.
My name is Bill and I am a teacher of various subjects in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I am originally from Riverside, California. By training I am a professional tuba player (hence, my handle LoyalTubist). I have done about anything imaginable with my tuba--and my fleet of tubas came with me to Vietnam!
I don't really have a favorite Marx Brothers movie, although I like the ones made at Paramount (with Zeppo) more than I like the ones made at MGM (prior to Irving Thalberg's death).
Besides teaching and playing tuba, I am a trained historian and am working to get a museum ready for when I go back to America... whatever year that will be.
My personal life: I am married to a Vietnamese woman and have two grown daughters from my first marriage.
You will find out more about me as I post. _________________ It's called show business...

Hi. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but it's about 375 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. That's further than the distance between Washington, DC, and New London, Connecticut (about 350 miles!) I know you are from Alaska and that's a big state but, for those of us from California, it seems like two states. Northerners are different than Southerners.
The easiest way to get down to LA from San Francisco is on Southwest Airlines. When I had to take computer training for my work, when I was living in Riverside, I had to take some Apple certification courses at either the Apple Headquarters in Cupertino (and hour south of San Francisco) or to a hotel in San Diego (100 miles south of me in Riverside). It was much cheaper for me to fly on Southwest Airlines to San Jose than it was to drive to San Diego (hotels are cheaper in the San Jose area, too). At the present time, Southwest doesn't fly to the airport in San Francisco--they do fly to Oakland and San Jose. But by the end of August, they will be flying to San Francisco.
Anyway, I hope you do well in California. _________________ It's called show business...

Yup, I knew San Fransico and LA are quite a distance apart, doesn't mean I can't drive down for a weekend trip
I'm actually driving from Alaska, through Canada, making a stop in Kansas, then its on to Cali _________________

Pshaw.
picky aren't we now? Lots of states have (sometimes annoying) nicknames (or reputations).
I don't live there yet, so I'll call it what I want. So there _________________

Hi everyone, my name's Lindsey and I'm new. :] I'm twenty years old and live in Indiana.
I remember watching the Marx Brothers on television when I was little and thinking they were hilarious. A few months ago I saw their movies again for the first time in years and, well.. I'm a bit obsessed now. =P Ah well, just another thing to add to the growing list. Anyway, Chico is my favourite. <3
Drawing is my life. I'm currently taking online classes to get my degree in Game Art & Design.
I love love love music, especially from between the 50s to the 80s. I've been obsessed with David Bowie for about seven years now, and anyone who's seen my room can vouch for that.
I have a pet snake named Nagini (after Voldemort's snake in the Harry Potter books.. yes, I'm a huge dork).
Other places you can find me:
LiveJournal - MySpace - DeviantArt - Last.Fm
Well, that's all I can think of right now. Anything else, just ask! _________________

Hello all! I suppose I'm the REAL newbie here. Hopefully the first of a plethora to follow! My name is Tammy and I originally hail from Louisville Kentucky.
The true love of my life is Lon Chaney, but I'm a die-hard Marx Brothers fan from birth. My mother always watched them on the Sunday afternoon movies and I was hooked from there on out.
My favorite movie is "A Night at The Opera". For one reason, "The Sanity Clause" bit is just too funny. All of the movies have their "Marx moments", but Harpo makes me cry in every one ,with his beautiful music.
So, here I am, thanks for letting me join...
